Computex 2014

This is by far the most exciting time of the year for me when Computex and E3 strolls around, not only do I get to sit back and relax, but just go completely insane over computer hardware and PC gaming enough said right. Serious though Computex is awesome, well at less for me. E3 on the other hand not so much, because we usually get follow ups from last year, although I do manage to add a game or two the Future PC Game’s list.

Has of now it’s all about Computex 2014, lucky enough for me I completely finished working on the house outside for now to get sometime with Computex this year, so with that said let’s start filling up this post with Computex 2014 gear. Also when it’s over I’ll be adding what I found best at Computex 2014.

Here’s what I found best at this years Computex, first lets start this off with the Chassis, wow do we really need so much computer cases on the market honestly do we? At the moment I’m in middle of buying computer hardware and the first piece gear was the computer case, Cool Masters Cosmos II. Up on purchasing it I said to myself, this case will last me at less a good eight to ten years indefinitely. So after seen so many cases at Computex this year I was glad that I payed $431.23 Total for the Cooler Master Cosmos II, because I didn’t care what chassis they were showing off at Computex 2014.

First up All-in one coolers, even though I order the Corsair H100i last night along with the AX860i PSU and Samsung’s 840 EVO 250GB SSD, I wish these coolers were available to purchase because I would’ve got either one. Raijintek and Fractal Design that could fit in my Fractal Design Define R2 chassis, something that I’ll remember or when the server gets a upgrade. Raijintek is building a mini see-through tank onto the waterblock, and the tubing is likewise transparent with four colors, not that I care about colors but the fact that you can change the fittings like the Fractal Design T12, S24 and S36 AIO cooler. High pressure pump provides impressive water flow rates even when an additional CPU or GPU water block or an additional radiator has been added to the loop, All parts have fully standard G 1/4″ thread fittings for compatibility with the vast majority of enthusiast water cooling products.

Enough said who wouldn’t want to add more blocks to the loop for other cooling purposes, it’s the beginners setup that could lead to something more extreme. Now for Raijintek I’m pretty sure I heard or read something about the G1 1/4 thread fittings or could be wrong, can’t seem to find it, nevertheless it’s still a beautiful AIO CPU cooler.

Motherboards that’s easy the ASUS ROG Maximus VII Formula Chill With Air Or Water, I’ll be getting ASUS ROG Maximus VII Hero Z97 motherboard Although would love to get something like the Formula, I wont be overclocking the processor that much. Plus the specification are almost the same. Also ASUS and MSI motherboards with USB 3.1 at 10Gbps cool and EVGA’s X99 FTW board.

Memory and Storage, Basically it was all about X99 and DDR4 this year along with a bunch of SSD’s, SATA Express, PCIe drives, there’s one thing that had WTF all over it and that was Apacer Mashes a DDR3 DIMM with an M.2 SSD some company I never heard off or seen before, maybe who knows with all the hardware I read about. Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 even though Micron Crucial Ballistix Elite got higher clocks, I would still pick Corsair because of the Dominator Airflow Platinum LED Fan plus the Vengeance Pro Series and Vengeance Airflow Fan is on the list for the new system build. There’s a lot of Corsair but gotta mention the Flash Voyager GTX USB Flash Drive that has a SATA controller in it, Patriot had some USB drives to show too the Stealer Boost and Life Flash drives. Talking about flash drives and controllers LSI also was showing off the new SandForce controller SF3700.

PSU and Graphics, Cougar GXD Digital PSU seen it last year and didn’t pay any attention to it up till now, it lets you Tweak Output Voltages and do I love having control over the gear in the system. Guest that’s why I kinda went with Corsair because of it’s Corsair Link plus their a well known brand. In the graphics department the EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN-Z dual-GPU graphics, don’t have $3000 just laying around because this card would be in my system period, even though it’s aimed at developers still would get it for bragging rights.

Peripherals not so much keyboard is a keyboard as long as it’s a maniacal one, but did fine the Func KB-460 Mechanical Keyboard and Roccat Tyon Gaming Mouse interesting considering it’s all about Logitech and Corsair. Yes the Func KB-460 has Cherry MX mechanical switches multimedia control and LED backlighting too, so there your have it. Last but not least the ASUS RT-AC3200 Six-steam 802.11AC Router, again wish I had this if it wasn’t from the price. I’ll just stick with ASUS RT-N66U and get this one after the system is up and running to go with the ASUS RT-N12 same family. Okay if there was going to be a case, it would the BitFenix Atlas or Antec’s Performance One P380 Case.

This years Computex wasn’t over the top but better then it was last year with stupid Tables and Smart phone gear etc, Fuck I hate that shit with a passion, serious the dream of owning a little PC repair show went down the drain because of this shit, no take your shitty ass fucking laptop else where please and thank you. So now that Computex 2014 is over time to watch some E3 Stage Demos.
